On January 11, 2014, the operation of SEDAR and the SEDAR website was transferred from CDS INC. to a new service provider engaged by the British Columbia Securities Commission, Alberta Securities Commission, Ontario Securities Commission and Autorité des marchés financiers, as representative stakeholders of the thirteen Provincial and Territorial securities regulatory authorities of Canada.

The rights and obligations of CDS INC. in certain SEDAR forms, as well as the SEDAR website Terms of Use and Privacy Statement appearing on the SEDAR website, were assigned as of January 11, 2014, to the Alberta Securities Commission (“ASC”), as the representative securities regulatory authority authorized to grant licenses and enter into agreements with users of SEDAR and the SEDAR website. Commencing January 11, 2014, the ASC will be party to and manage the contractual relations with all users of SEDAR and the SEDAR website.

As a result, consequential amendments, including those related to the payment of fees pursuant to Multilateral Instrument 13-102, System Fees for SEDAR and NRD, have been integrated into the Terms of Use and Privacy Statement appearing on this page, as well as into the various SEDAR forms made available through this website in order to reflect the above-mentioned changes.

Vertical Rule is the official site that provides access to most public securities documents and information filed by public companies and investment funds with the thirteen provincial and territorial securities regulatory authorities ("Canadian Securities Administrators" or "CSA") in the SEDAR filing system. The statutory objective in making public this filed information is to enhance investor awareness of the business and affairs of public companies and investment funds and to promote confidence in the transparent operation of capital markets in Canada. Achieving this objective relies heavily on the provision of accurate information on market participants.

The System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval (SEDAR) is a filing system developed for the Canadian Securities Administrators to:
  • facilitate the electronic filing of securities information as required by Canadian Securities Administrator;
  • allow for the public dissemination of Canadian securities information collected in the securities filing process; and
  • provide electronic communication between electronic filers, agents and the Canadian Securities Administrator

On, investors and other authorized users can find and retrieve public company and investment fund profiles and SEDAR public securities filings and information from the SEDAR filing system, together with the latest news about SEDAR.

This web site is updated every fifteen minutes, Monday – Friday, 7 am – 11 pm ET (excluding statutory holidays) with new publicly accessible filings, as well as access to official copies of those new filings, historic public filings and other information.
